Tiny homes are becoming more common today – the concept of being mobile while still owning a little slice of heaven is appealing to a larger percentage of the population. These homes manage to fit all of the necessities; a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and dining nook, and the occasional outdoor space whether that is a deck or a rooftop patio in a tiny package. The small square footage doesn’t mean that there is a lack of quality. The company Tiny Heirloom out of Portland, Oregon is building custom homes with high-end materials like granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and wood floors. Naturally after utilizing these materials the next step is for these homes to offer an automation package.

Tiny Heirloom will include “hands free lighting, voice activated door locks, automated thermostats, auto-leveling jacks, tank level indication, propane level readings and Bluetooth surround sound.” Of course all of this will be able to be monitored from a Smart Phone. We love seeing innovation in our field growing to accommodate all styles of homes. At SLH we offer these home automation options to our clients but would not be opposed to working with clients that have dreams or different ideas then we are used to. Aside from homes we have also automated sheds, barns, and man caves that aren’t connected to the man house (check out this article to see a great example).

If you have an idea and you’re wondering how to make it a reality call SLH today and we will come up with a solution for your home automation dream!
